Burnley’s infamous pub, The Forrester’s Arms on Todmorden Road, central Burnley is set to be issued a new lease of life with the conversion into student accommodation expected to begin in the coming weeks.

E&M Property Solutions are working with an international investor, where they are looking to convert the former pub into student accommodation ready for UCLAN’s increase in students over the coming years.

Tina Etherington, the founder and Managing Director of E&M Property Solutions said that…

“We feel this is going to be something very positive for the town. At the moment we are one of two registered estate agents in the town working with UCLAN to provide student accommodation”.

Tina went on to say that “we are working with an international investor who is hoping to bring the building back to life and make it into high-end student accommodation. The Coronavirus pandemic had put things on hold, as construction was due to begin before the pandemic but it’s hard to maintain social distancing on such a large site”.

Over the course of this year, The Forrester’s is set to be made into luxury accommodation for UCLAN students, with plans to have seven bedrooms on the ground floor, each with their own shower and toilet and a kitchen area to the rear of the building. The first floor will also have seven bedrooms with shared kitchen facilities.

With no plans to alter the appearance of the building to conserve the heritage of the area, there will be a dedicated bin store to the rear of the property alongside an internal bike storage facility.
